Ira Rodrigues
Brazilian soprano Ira Rodrigues cannot remember a time in her life when singing was not one of her favorite things to do. Ira loves to sing in a variety of styles, her repertoire varies from opera to musical theater, jazz, Bossa Nova, and church music. She holds a B.A. in
Church Music (emphasis on High School Choir Education) from the Seminário Teológico Batista do Norte do Brasil (Recife, Brazil), a M.A. in Music (Vocal Performance) from Campbellsville University (KY), and a DMA in Vocal Performance from the University of
Kentucky (KY)
Dr. Rodrigues is also passionate about teaching. She has a private voice studio in Newark, DE and is the high school choir director to the wonderful students at Mount Sophia Academy. Ira Rodrigues considers it a privilege to be able to contribute to the education of young people and the formation of their young minds.
Of all the many blessings Ira can count, she considers the greatest to be the wife of the amazing pianist and church music director Higo Rodrigues and the mother of their two beautiful and very musically inclined daughters Bianca and Luisa.
